Pricing

How we price a paint job

Every job is measured and priced in person. Here is what goes into the number, so you know what to expect before we come out.

How it works

One written price, before we start

No two houses are the same, so we price yours in person. It is free and it comes with a color consult.

  1. 01

    We come out and measure

Free, with color samples for your walls. Bring your questions.

  2. 02

    We look at the prep

Patching, sanding, caulking and priming are part of the price, so we check them in person.

  3. 03

    You pick the paint level

Three Sherwin-Williams levels. You can mix them room by room.

  4. 04

    You get it in writing

One written price before we start, with what is included spelled out.

How each kind of job is measured

  • Interior

Walls by the square foot of wall, ceilings by the floor area, trim by the foot, and doors, windows and closets by the piece.

    More about interior
  • Cabinets

By the piece: doors, drawer fronts and end panels. One sprayed spec, Sherwin-Williams Gallery Series Waterborne Topcoat.

    More about cabinets
  • Exterior

By the square foot of siding, and the siding type matters. Trim, doors and shutters by the foot or piece. Washing and two coats included.

    More about exterior
  • Drywall repair

Priced on its own line, so you can see exactly what the repair adds before any paint goes on.

Pick a paint level

The level is the paint itself. Prep is the same at every level.

What moves the price

Why two similar rooms can cost different amounts

  • Prep

Peeling paint, glossy old finishes, mildew and caulk that has let go all take time before any paint goes on.

  • Ceilings and height

Ceilings are priced on their own. Vaulted rooms and two-story walls take staging and more time.

  • Trim and doors

Baseboards, casing, crown and doors are detail work, priced by the foot or by the piece.

  • Drywall repair

Holes, cracks, nail pops and water stains are fixed first and priced on their own line.

  • Big color changes

Going from dark to light or light to deep often takes an extra coat.

  • Furniture and access

Full rooms, tight stairwells, steep lots and no nearby water or power add time. Tell us up front and the price will be right.

Pricing questions

Something else on your mind? Call or text 864-800-8275.

Why is there no price list?

Every house is different: the size of the rooms, the prep, the paint level and how much is in the way. We would rather measure and give you a real number in writing than a guess that changes later.

Is the estimate free?

Yes. We come out, measure, look at the prep, bring color samples, and leave you a written price. The color consult is part of it and costs nothing.

Why do you measure walls, not floor space?

Because the walls are what we actually paint. Taller ceilings mean more wall, so measuring the wall keeps the price tied to the real work.

Can I pay over time?

Financing is available through Wisetack for eligible customers, and you can also choose Klarna when you pay your invoice. See how financing works.

When will the online estimate be ready?

We are building it now. Until then, call or text 864-800-8275 or send the estimate form, and we will set up your free estimate.
