Duncan is a small Spartanburg County town where US 29 runs through and Main Street is SC 290. I-85 meets SC 290 at exit 63, and the Inland Port in Greer is just up the road. Adrian started in the trade in 2017 staining fences and decks for a local builder, and he launched Superior Stain Solutions here in Duncan in 2022. Painting is now its own company name, but it is the same owner, the same phone, and the same hometown.
The houses around town
Duncan has a little of every era, and each one brings its own kind of painting work.
Older brick ranches
Around town you will find brick ranches from the 1950s through the 1970s, in neighborhoods like Ridgewood Heights and Tyger River Estates. On these houses the brick takes care of itself. The work is the painted parts: wood trim and fascia that have been recoated many times, doors, and the inside of the house, where a previous owner’s colors and years of nail holes and cracks are usually waiting. Those rooms often need some drywall repair before paint.
River Falls Plantation
River Falls is a golf community built around a Gary Player course, with most of its homes from the early 1990s through the mid 2000s and some newer ones since. Larger rooms, taller walls and more trim mean the job is mostly about clean lines and keeping furniture and floors protected.
Newer neighborhoods
Newer neighborhoods like Reid Park have homes built only in the last few years. A house that new usually needs better wall paint than the builder’s flat, a color that isn’t the same beige in every room, and sometimes a kitchen that came in the wrong color. That last one is what cabinet painting is for.
